Game 45 WPA: SPANNER!! Nats 9, Reds 4

This was a bit of a turn-around from last night. I wish I went to this game instead of last night's.

  • I'm liking this guy: Doug Fister (+22.9% pitching, +2.0% hitting) gives up 2 ER in 7 IP with 5 Ks and 1 walk. He's 1-2 with a single, a sac bunt, and a run scored at the plate.
  • He was kinda the whole game: Denard Span (+32.4%) is 5-5 with a SB, two doubles, and a third-inning, bunt, circus triple that scored Fister from first to tie the game (+18.5%).
  • Defense doesn't add to WPA: Tyler Moore (+2.8%) had nice diving grabs to either side tonight, but only gets credit for his sixth-inning RBI single (+6.7%) that was part of that inning's deluge of Nats' runs.
  • Collared: Ian Desmond (-6.8%) is 0-4.

All in all, a good night. Let's dance.
