Game 32 WPA: Dingerdinger = winnerwinner. Nats 4, Blue 0

All the Nats' offense came on 2 HRs, although they only needed one of 'em. It was still a nice reassurance to a tired, wet, cold "crowd." The Nats' defense used 6 pitchers last night, and they needed every one of 'em. And they all came through. Well done, boys.

  • Stop dilly-dallying! Jordan Zimmermann (+19.6%) holds down a pretty good offense for 4 scoreless before the rain delay, fanning 3 and walking none but not getting an official game in before the rain.
  • #Rendoneitagain: Anthony Rendon (+6.1%) hits a lazy fly ball to CF that drifts over the fence for a  two-run homer in the 1st, putting the Nats ahead for good (+13.7%).
  • Relief corps: Jerry Blevins (+6.1%), Drew Storen (+6.5%), and Tyler Clippard (+6.8%) combine to throw three scoreless in relief, fanning 4 and all earning shutdowns from the lateness/closeness of the game in their respective appearances.
  • Prototypical? Denard Span (+11.3%) is 3-4 with a pair of doubles.
  • Stat-padder: Danny Espinosa (-0.7%) adds a pair of meaningless junk-time runs with an aeyth-inning, two-run shot off the back wall of the home bullpen (+3.6%).
