Game 74 WPA: Turnabout. Nats wins 4-1

Roark didn't go deep, but he was effective, the bats were active, and the bullpen was nails. There was a lot to like about the performance of the team today, which is not made up of a bunch of thin-skinned crybabies.

  • The legend stumbles along: Tanner Roark (+11.0%) only makes it through 5.1 IP, giving up 1 ER with 3 Ks and 3 BBs, but it was enough.
  • Beard: Adam LaRoche (+9.1%) drives in a run in the first to get the Nats ahead (+12.6%).
  • Beard: Denard Span (+8.2%) is 2-4 with an RBI double to put the Nats up 3 in the 5th (+6.6%).
  • Stubble: Craig Stammen (+18.6%) earns a big shutdown with 5 outs the finish the 6th and throw a scoreless 7th.
  • Hairless: Tyler Clippard (+6.8%) gets a shutdown of his own with a 1-2-3 aeyth.
  • Beard: Anthony Rendon (+4.5%) is not so appreciated by WPA today, in spite of going 2-3 with a double, a walk, and a big two-out insurance run scored on a WP in the aeyth (+2.8%).

Today's WPA brought to you by I don't care how popular it is if it shows how I feel:
