New, 6 comments

Roark struggles a bit, the Nats take advantage of walks with singles, and the bullpen is (mostly) clean in relief.

  • Labored: Tanner Roark (+8.1%) works pretty hard to get through 5.2 IP with 3 ER on 4 Ks and 2 BBs.
  • Lefties lashin' liners: Adam LaRoche (+14.3%) is 2-4 with a first-inning RBI single for the early lead (+12.6%) and another in the third (+5.2%). Bryce Harper (+12.5%) is 2-4 with a two-run single in the first (+12.0%).
  • WPA doesn't value insurance properly: Wilson Ramos (-9.0%) knocks in the eventual winning run with a two-out RBI single in the 3rd (+3.4%). Let's forget about the two GDPs.
  • Varying pucker factors: Drew Storen (+6.5%) and Tyler Clippard (+6.8%) earn shutdowns with clean 7th and ayeth innings, while Rafael Soriano (+6.6%) gives up 3 hits and a run but manages to hold the lead for a shutdown of his own.
