Nationals clinch the NL East: Your 2014 NL East Division Champions!!!!

The Washington Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves tonight in Turner Field and clinched the NL East Division in the process. Tanner Roark dominated on the mound and Ian Desmond provided all the offense the Nats would need in the 3-0 win.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Nationals' starter Tanner Roark threw seven scoreless on the mound in Turner Field. Ian Desmond hit his 23rd HR of the year then scored an insurance run after connecting for his 24th double! Tyler Clippard threw a scoreless 12-pitch eighth! Drew Storen needed seven pitches to lock down the ninth. The Nats won their 87th game of the season and guaranteed that post season baseball was coming back to the nation's capital for the second time in three years and the second time since 1933. Not only that, but they clinched the division in the Atlanta Braves' home, finally putting the idea that the Nats' NL East rivals were in their heads to rest. OK, it was actually put to rest weeks ago. #RespecttheA

It's time to celebrate before getting back to work!!

But seriously? Tanner [expletive deleted] Roark!!!

The Washington Nationals are the 2014 NL East champs! The Nats are the NL East Champs!!
