Stras dealt, the "A" pen dealt, the defense bobbled a little, but the bats were enough.

  • Takin' it easy: Stephen Strasburg (+33.8% pitching, +0.9% hitting) cruises through his last six regular season innings, fanning 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. He even drives in a run on a sort-of squeeze play/bunt+delayed-steal (+2.9%).
  • WPA is hard to impress: Asdrubal Cabrera (-2.2%) drives in three in the aeyth with a bases-clearing double to put the Nats up by five, to which the WPA hamster yawn and mutter, "junk-timer" (+2.9%).
  • Patient and hitterish: Anthony Rendon (+4.5%) is 1-3 with a pair of walks, while Wilson Ramos (+4.5%) and Jayson Werth (+5.5%) both go 2-4.
  • "A" pen: Jerry Blevins (+6.5%) throws a 1-2-3 seventh for a shutdown. Tyler Clippard (+6.8%) follows with a scoreless aeyth for hit own shutdown.
