Game 87 WPA: Incomplete. Nats win 3-2.

I'm starting to get worried about wearing Scherzer out. Did the Nats get the extended warranty when they signed him? Also, Tyler Moore looked pretty good today.

Heck, yeah, Scherzer!!

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Stalking horse (but not in the usual sense): Max Scherzer (+37.6%) gives up 2 runs in 8.2 IP with 7 Ks and no walks.
  • I yam what I yam: Dan Uggla (+11.3%) lines one into center for a game-tying, two-out, RBI single in the fourth (+15.9%).
  • He had a nice catch on a foul liner, too: Tyler Moore (+20.6%) bashes a two-out double into the gap in RF to drive in two and put the Nats ahead after Uggla's single (+22.9%).
  • Multi-hit: Yunel Escobar (+6.2%) is 3-4 with a run scored, but WPA isn't particularly impressed.
  • Easiest/hardest job: Drew Storen (+4.0%) comes in with one out to get in the one-run game... and he gets it with a swinging K... but there wasn't enough WPA left for a shutdown.

Today's WPA brought to you by endurance:
