Game 82 WPA: Second half starts off okay. Nats win 3-1.

NN does his best with a bizarre strike zone, while Ramos provides as much offense as required.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • P2Win, continued: Jordan Zimmermann (+29.1%) gives up 1 run in 7 IP with 8 Ks and a walk. A walk! Work on that control, there, NN.
  • Centaur-catcher rakes: Wilson Ramos (+29.4%) puts the Nats ahead with a solo shot just over the out of town scoreboard in RF in the 6th (+19.6%), then follows up with an RBI single in the aeyth for some insurance (+3.5%).
  • These players are not quite equivalent: Danny Espinosa (+13.5%) and Bryce Harper (+12.0%) each go 2-3 with a walk, with Danny adding a SB and Harper a double.
  • Shutdowns: Matt Thornton (+12.1%) gets the last two outs in the aeyth after Carpenter allows runner, while Drew Storen (+6.4%) walks one but allows no runs in the ninth.

Today's WPA brought to you by sure it's a couple of days late, but it was at no additional cost:
