Game 116 WPA: Five hundred. Nats lose 6-12.

New, comments

Gio fell apart, Roark was not much help in mop up, and even Storen gave up runs. It was nice to see some scoring, but not when you give up double-digits....

  • Loose wheel: Gio Gonzalez (-51.5%) hits the wall and bursts into flames, giving up 6 runs in the 3rd inning with one K, 2 walks, and a whole pile of FAIL over 2.2 IP.
  • Brief hope: Yunel Escobar (+7.6%) doubles in a run in the first (+12.1%) to put the Nats ahead. Ian Desmond (+12.7%) cranks a huge solo bomb to double that early lead in the 2nd (+10.3%).
  • The junkiest time: Danny Espinosa (+0.1%) gets a pinch-hit solo homer to lead off the 9th with the game well out of hand.
  • The junkiest: Anthony Rendon (-7.5%) continues his slump, going 0-5 with 3 LOB.
