Nationals and Orioles' series opener postponed by rain; will be made up Thursday

The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles' series opener in the nation's capital was postponed by rain and the game will be made up on Thursday afternoon at 4:05 PM EDT. Gio Gonzalez will start tomorrow's game.

The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles were scheduled to begin their three-game set at 7:05 PM in the nation's capital, but rain delayed the start of tonight's game and eventually led to its postponement.

After a little over an hour in a rain delay, the Nationals announced on Twitter that the game will be postponed and made up on Thursday afternoon at 4:05 PM EDT:

Gio Gonzalez and Ubaldo Jimenez were set to start the first game of three in D.C., but there was no immediate, official word on who will start tomorrow night's game, which is scheduled to begin at 7:05 PM, though both Gonzalez and Jimenez are listed as the starters for Tuesday's game on MLB.com.

The Nationals took two of three from the Orioles in OPACY earlier this season, but Baltimore currently leads the all-time series between the regional "rivals" 30-23, with a 17-11 record at home in Oriole Park and a 13-12 record in D.C. and a 10-9 record in Nationals Park since it opened in 2008.

When Nats' skipper Matt Williams spoke to reporters after tonight's game, he did, in fact, confirm that Gio Gonzalez will get the start tomorrow, though he left it open as to how he may rearrange the rotation going forward:
