New York won four of their seven games with San Francisco this season, including two of three against the Giants in Citi Field.

Tonight, at 8:00 PM EDT, the Mets host the Giants in the NL Wild Card game, with Noah Syndergaard on the mound against Madison Bumgarner in the one-and-done affair.

Syndergaard was (1-1) in two starts against San Francisco this season, with a 2.63 ERA in 13 23 IP, over which he held Giants’ hitters to a combined .159/.229/.227.

Bumgarner was (2-0) in two starts against the Mets, with a 3.20 ERA and .279/.367/.372 line against in 11 IP.

Mets’ skipper Terry Collins talked on Tuesday about the difficult task ahead in taking on Bumgarner.

“Well, he's outstanding, but this time of year you're going to face great pitching,” Collins said.

“We know that. We're up for it. We faced arguably the best pitcher in baseball last year in our series against the Dodgers, so we handled ourselves pretty good, and we think tomorrow night we'll do the same.”

Giants’ skipper Bruce Bochy knows his team is facing a tough opponent in Syndergaard as well.

“He's one of the best young pitchers in the game,” Bochy told reporters. “You look at his stuff, he's just grown as a pitcher, his command, everything. His secondary pitches, you saw what he did in the postseason last year.

“This is a great match-up tomorrow. It really is. And I look forward to it. It's going to be an exciting game. They've got their guy going. Bum's going. I mean, this is the fun thing about postseason, is you're going to get great matchups like this.”
