Bryce Harper is no stranger to awards — at least, receiving awards. Last night, he got his first experience on the other side of the podium when he announced the winner of the New Artist of the Year award at the American Music Awards alongside recording artist Teyana Taylor.
Harper started his night on the red carpet with a photo alongside his fiance Kay Varner before the media caught up to him (Spoiler alert: They talk about his clothes and his ankles a lot).

Harper then went on stage with Teyana Taylor to present the award to Zayn Malik (who, by the way, is less than three months younger than Harper).

(Granted, Harper makes millions of dollars every year to play baseball and win awards, not to announce the winners of awards.)
Right after the main event was over, Harper and Taylor dissected their performance backstage.
Hey @TEYANATAYLOR, when you slip, who better to have at your side than professional baseball player @BHarper3407? Thanks, you guys rock! pic.twitter.com/TZcYzf55FG

Later, Varner posted a picture on Instagram to mark the end of the night.
Hopefully, next time we see Harper at an awards show, he’ll be receiving the awards once again.
