It's split-squad action this afternoon as Gio Gonzalez and the Washington Nationals welcome the Atlanta Braves to Space Coast Stadium and Yusmeiro Petit and the Nats take on the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie, Florida's Tradition Field.
Gio Gonzalez takes on Jhoulys Chacin at home while Yusmeiro Petit starts against Steve Matz and the Mets.
Gonzalez makes his fifth start of the Spring after giving up 12 hits, six runs (four earned) and 12 walks in his previous four outings, striking out seven in 13 innings, over which opposing hitters have a combined .250 AVG.
Petit makes his sixth appearances, his first as a starter, having given up six hits and three runs in the previous five relief appearances, over which he's struck out eight, walked no one and help opposing hitters to a .207 AVG.
