Game 10 WPA: That's right, Max is good. Nats win 8-1.

Scherzer got it done on both sides of the plate, Bryce add another dinger with metronomic predictability, and this team seems to be clicking right now (in a good way, not in a "what's the noise my when I move my arm" way).

"Hurry up and strike out, so I can get back to hitting!" (Not an actual quote.)

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Reliably dominant: Max Scherzer (+18.3% pitching, +9.4% hitting) fans 7 and walks one over 7 IP, single handedly offsetting the one run he allows with a two-out, two-RBI double in the fourth (+10.4%).
  • Early winning margin: Ryan ZImmerman (+7.0%) drives the eventual winning tally with one out in the 1st (+7.8%), while Daniel Murphy (+9.5%) follows up with an RBI triple for some insurance on the next AB (+10.9%).
  • WPA won't be impressed until the the next milestone: Bryce Harper (+1.3%) is 2-3 with a sac fly, a TOOTBLAN (-2.3%) and a two-run bomb to left in the 5th (+3.1%).

Tonight's WPA brought to you by patience:
