Bubble wrap was invented in 1957 when a pair of inventors found that their three dimensional wall-paper was really only useful for wrapping trophies (source: Wikipedia).
If that bit of trivia seems out of place to you, go watch Bryce Harper playing Catchphrase on the Tonight Show last night:
Yes, there was a lot of what appears to be cheating going on there. No, you were not the first to notice that.
Let's go to an expert witness on the subject, Bryce's older brother Bryan:
@Bharper3407 is such a cheater!! He pulled that ish all the time when we were younger too!! @FallonTonight @jimmyfallon

If you ever hear anybody call Bryce Harper is a cheater, think of this night and roll with it.
Let's talk about the humor though. This is late night comedy, after all!
Bryce's bubble wrap line was by far the funniest part of that whole game.
Does anybody out there actually think Bryce was trying to be funny? I don't. If he was, he was really playing the part well. He knows bubble wrap because he uses it when he is transporting his trophies, which are important to him.
It made us laugh, so mission accomplished in any case!
Do any of you out there use bubble wrap for something specific that others might laugh at?
Can we get Bryce doing this sort of thing more often please?
