The Stras-less Nats don't have quite enough run prevention, but Petit eats the innings to set up a second chance.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Saving the bullpen: Yusmeiro "Were you expecting Miss America?" Petit (-10.9%) does his job, eating six innings on about an hour's notice. He allows 3 runs with 5 Ks and a walks, which is thoroughly respectable.
  • Play of the game: Anthony Rendon (+2.9%) singles in a run to "make it respectable" (as Mrs. Doghouse's father would say) with one down in the 7th (+7.5%).
  • WPA leader: Wilson Ramos (+4.5%) is 1-4 with 2 Ks but no LOB.
  • WPA laggards: Danny Espinosa (-9.8%) is 0-3 with a K and 2 LOB. Chris Heisey (-9.0%) strands 2 in his PH appearance.
