Game 72: A good game right up until it wasn't. Nats lose 2-3.

Roark almost got the team a win while also saving the bullpen, but just couldn't get through the 8th.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • The proverbial "one bad pitch": Tanner "Save the bullpen" Roark (-31.1%) throws 7 scoreless, but gives up the losing 3-run homer (-54.2%) before getting one out in the ayeth. He has 5 Ks and a walk (which scored on the losing shot) on the night.
  • Get some baserunners: Bryce "Bam Bam" Harper (+4.5%) hits a two-out solo shot to get the Nats on the board and in the lead in the first (+11.2%).
  • I'd joke about stat-padding, but it's too sad: Danny "Wall-scraper" Espinosa (+10.1%) tries to build an insurmountable margin with a solo shot of his own to lead off the 5th (+12.0%).
  • Variety is the spice of life: Ben "4-3" Revere (-15.9%) is 0-5, grounding out to four different infield positions and even flying out to the outfield once!
