Game 91 WPA: Lucky 13 (and 0). Nats win 5-1.

Stras was dominant, we had some good baserunning, some timely hits, and a few defensive miscues capitalized upon. I've missed baseball.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Strasburg: Stephen Strasburg (+29.5%) gives up one run in 8 IP with 6 Ks and 2 walks.
  • Unhelpful: Bryce Harper (-13.2%) is 0-3 with a walk and a GDP with runners corners to end the 4th and not break the scoreless tie (-14.2%).
  • On the board: Clint Robinson (+40.9%) hits a game-tying RBI single with one out in the 5th for the Nats' first run (+19.3%), not to mention a 7th-inning single to put runners corners and set up the go-ahead run (+15.4%). He later scores (from 2nd) on a WP+E, just because it's his night (+7.9%).
  • Safety dance: Stras (-3.6% hitting) gets a safety squeeze down, running some good interference on the throw home to put the Nats ahead in the 7th (+6.4%).
  • Okay, I guess I won't call for him to bat lower in the order today: Michael Taylor (+8.5%) cranks one out over the out-of-town scoreboard in right for a two-run bomb to put the Nats up by 4 in the 7th (+6.8%).

Tonight's WPA brought to you by self-indulgent homecomings:
