Game 85 WPA: Lifeless. Nats lose 2-5.

Gio tried his best as outfielders were busy misjudging behind him, but scoring chances went unrealized and the bullpen didn't hold things down.

  • Improvement? Gio Gonzalez (-9.9%) gives up 3 runs over 6 IP with some shaky defense behind him on 4 Ks and 3 waliks.
  • This was just mean: Anthony Rendon (+11.4%) taunts us with a two-out, RBI single in the second for the early lead (+11.3%).
  • Nails in the coffin: Blake Treinen (-11.0%) gives up 2 runs in the 7th--they weren't the losing runs, but it put the game out of reach.
