Heading into play today in New York, Washington Nationals' catcher Wilson Ramos leads all qualified MLB catchers in batting average (.333), on-base percentage (.388), slugging percentage (.549), RBIs (47), home runs (13, tied for first) and the fewest strikeouts (35 in 281 plate appearances).
Ramos ranks seventh in the majors overall with a .377 AVG with runners in scoring position too, and he's hit safely in 15 of his last 19 games played.
Over his last 30 games, the 28-year-old backstop has a .343/.407/.602 line with seven home runs and 22 runs batted in.
It's safe to say that the veteran catcher is deserving of the All-Star nod he received this week. Ramos wasn't voted on to the National League's roster, but he was added via the player vote.
He will join Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy and Stephen Strasburg in San Diego for the 2016 edition of the Midsummer Classic.
In recognition of his first All-Star selection, Breaking T created a "Buffalo-themed" t-shirt that you can wear while you cheer, "WILLLLLLSON!!" once the Nationals are back in the nation's capital after the All-Star Break.
Breaking T's product description:
Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos, known as the Buffalo 'round these parts, is an All-Star! Show your support with this tee!
You can still get the Nationals-themed Daniel Murphy #FWAHHH shirt as well.
