Game 119 WPA: Good news/Bad news. Nats lose 10-12.

Stras had a bad, bad outing. The rest of the Nats got some hits, though.

Not a good one. Not good at all.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Not necessarily to the Nats' advantage: Stephen Strasburg (-43.4%) digs a deep hole early, giving up 9 (nine!) runs while only recording five outs on 3 Ks and 3 walks.
  • Signs of life: Bryce Harper (+10.6%) is 2-4 with a walk and a two-run dinger in the 5th to get the Nats within 3 (+8.5%).
  • Pinch-hit stat padders: Pedro Severino hits a solo shot in the 7th (+2.6%), while Chris Heisey hits another one with two down in the 9th to get the Nats into double digits (+1.0%).
  • Do lazor eyes fade at altitude? Wilson Ramos (-10.4%) is 0-5 with a K and 4 LOB.
  • Just when we were getting close! Oliver Perez (-6.1%) somehow manages to earn a meltdown after Stras' disastrous start, throwing a scoreless 4th but failing to keep the deficit at three or record an out in the 5th.
