Game 127 WPA: Maximum Max. Nats win 4-0.

It's a one-man show tonight, as Max mows 'em down with a slight assist from Werth and some late-inning junk-timing to pad the lead.

Decent outing.
Decent outing.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Pitching to contact would allow him to go deeper into games: Max Scherzer (+56.7%) fans 10 over 8 innings of shutout ball, walking none.
  • Old dudes gotta stick together: Jayson Werth (+9.0%) leads off the 4th with a long solo home run off the wall of the service corridor in straightaway center, giving Max all the runs he'd need (+13.2%).
  • Um: Yeah, so Jaydub and Sherzz pretty much did it all.  Ryan Zimmerman (-8.2%) was 0-4 with 3 LOB, but why dwell on that in a loss?
