Game 132 WPA: Familiar. Nats win 3-2

This game was a lot like last night's, except, incredibly, it wasn't quite as good. Still, Scherzer solid, bats adequate, Nats win.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • This was almost as good as Roark's last outing: Max Scherzer (+31.3%) fans 11 and walks 1, allowing two runs in 8 IP. His fourth-inning sac bunt drove in the eventual winning run (+2.5%).
  • Get ahead early: Bryce Harper (+7.1%) doubles in a run to get the Nats on the board in the first (+10.4%). Wilson Ramos (+5.5%) follows up with an RBI single to double the Nats' lead (+9.4%).
  • Finish it off: Mark Melancon (+19.1%) holds the one-run lead in the 9th, working around a leadoff walk and getting a game-ending GDP (+20.1%) to secure a shutdown.
