There’s still plenty of baseball to play this season, but as always, the 2017 schedule is released before the 2016 campaign ends.
Washington will open the 2017 season at home in Nationals Park on Monday April 3rd, when the Miami Marlins come to the nation’s capital for a three-game set.
According to the Nationals’ press release on the schedule, the 84th home opener in Washington since 1901, “... will mark the sixth opening day hosted by the Nationals since baseball returned to D.C. in 2005.”
Mother’s Day on May 14th will feature a matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Nationals will, of course, be home for the 4th of July (vs the New York Mets).
The Nationals will spend an entire week in the Bay Area, playing the San Francisco Giants on May 29-31 and Oakland Athletics (June 2-4).
After the Giants and A’s, the Nationals visit the Dodgers on that trip as well (June 5-7).
The Beltway series with the Baltimore Orioles takes place in May this season, with two in Baltimore (May 8-9) and two in D.C. (May 10-11).
In Interleague play, the Nationals will match up against the AL West this season.
They’ll conclude the 2017 regular season with a four-game weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates (September 28-October 1st).
