A few weeks back we asked how the time Dave Martinez spent as Joe Maddon’s bench coach might influence his decision making as a manager now that he has a managerial gig of his own.
Over the weekend, Martinez was asked if we might see the pitcher hitting eighth on occasion as Maddon occasionally lined things up in his batting order.
He, did. not. say, “No.”
“We’re going to be creative,” Martinez explained.
“We’re looking at different options and different things. You might see it. I’m not going to sit here and lie to you. You might see that.”
