Wire Taps: Nationals' rotation falling into place; Blake Treinen is right call; Trea Turner is 'easy choice' for NL MVP

Catch up on the last 24 hours in Nationals news before the start of today's exhibition with the Red Sox/inevitable rainout...

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Nationals are now all back in Washington, D.C., with almost every question answered. Unless nature has other ideas, then we'll finally get to see them play at Nationals Park.

Otherwise, if the forecast holds up... well, I guess we can just wait until Monday. Or if it rains again, Tuesday. Unless it rains then, then I guess we can wait until Wednesday and start the season on a doubleheader. Whoof.

Here's the beat from South Capitol Street.

Nats' rotation plans falling into place
It'll be Stephen Strasburg on Opening Day, Tanner Roark the day after, Max Scherzer in the third slot, and then it's just all sorts of chaos.

Blake Treinen is closing, and that is the right call
With his crazy-good sinker, Treinen could very well turn into a Zach Britton-type closer that dominates hitters like no other.

Nats choose Blake Treinen as closer
After a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long wait, the Nats finally have their closer.

Entering 2017, Nats are optimistic
The Nats have a limited amount of time to win a World Series, at least with this current core of players -- but they still think they have a great chance to win it all.

ESPN Analyst: Trea Turner will be 'easy choice' for 2017 NL MVP
Turner dominated in his half season last year, but ESPN's Eduardo Perez thinks that Turner will leave no questions about who's on top in 2017.

The official guide to the new food and drinks at Nats Park this season
The Nats have officially told the world what's new at the park this year, at least food/drink-wise.
