Turner lands on 10-day DL, Taylor recalled from Syracuse
"'I think baseball did one of the best things they’ve done in a long time, which was to cut the DL from 15 days to 10 days,' manager Dusty Baker said."

Minor league pitching updates: Ross and Fedde
"Here’s what a source who was at the game told me: "First before anything, it has to be said that it was 41 degrees at first pitch, and felt a lot colder than that (with 17 mph winds)."

Five baseball milestones waiting to be reached
"Now that we don't have to talk about the Cubs' 108-year championship drought, it's worth noting that eight teams have never won a World Series, namely the Rays (established in 1998), Rockies ('93), Mariners ('77), Nationals ('69, as the Expos), Brewers ('69, as the Seattle Pilots), Padres ('69), Astros ('62) and Rangers ('61, as the second version of the Washington Senators)."

Sizzlers and fizzlers: Yasiel Puig back in fantasy owners' good graces
"He's played an average of 90 games over the past three seasons, so fantasy owners are understandably skeptical. But Zimmerman is healthy to start 2017..."

Pots & Pans: 70 years after Jackie Robinson’s breakthrough, stats are changing sports but not what makes a hero
"With a half-century in baseball, Baker, a three-time Major League Baseball Manager of the Year, is more likely to refer to his gut than a spreadsheet when deciding what he and his Washington Nationals ballclub should do."
