Game 12 WPA: All Harper, all the time. Washington Nationals walk off Philadelphia Phillies 6-4 on dramatic Bam-Bam bomb.

Gio pitched well enough, although some shaky D and a shakier bullpen might have lost things if not for some Harper homers.

(What do these graphs mean?)

  • Shakily sufficient: Gio Gonzalez (+14.3%) walks 3 and only fans 2 in 7 13 IP, giving up 2 runs (1 earned), plus an inherited runner scored later.
  • The resurgence of Two-Bags? Anthony Rendon (-8.7%) doubles in a run to tie it in the first (+9.8%).
  • Not helpful: Koda Glover (-9.3%) cashes in Gio’s inherited runner to lose the lead and earn a meltdown in the ayeth.
  • REALLY not helpful: Blake Treinen (-34.8%) only gets two outs into the 9th, giving up the go-behind run and leaving with the bases loaded.
  • Hero time all the time: Bryce Harper (+98.7%) is 3-5 with a two-run bomb to left to put the Nats ahead in the 3rd (+21.3%), and two-out, three-run blast onto the batter’s eye with a 3-2 count for the walkoff (+82.8%).
