Roark has been unlucky, yes. But opponents are hitting the ball harder. And he can't pitch against lefties. Specifically, his changeup isn't working against lefties. Nor is his slider.

It's not unusual for first and second round picks to take a bit longer. On the bright side, Trey Turner signed.

The Nats will most likely be in the playoffs. The Metro will have its new, shortened hours -- and new specifications about paying the system to stay open, which, alongside raising the fee to $100,000, requires significant advanced notice, something postseason baseball does not provide.

All the telltale signs of "Bad Gio" making his return were there. It hasn't totally happened yet, thanks to some good luck -- but there could actually be an underlying reason that "Bad Gio" never truly comes, or at least at full force.
