(What do these graphs and percentages mean?)
- Why isn’t he a reliever already? Joe Ross (-44.8%) gives up 7 runs over 3 IP, fanning 5 and walking two—both of which score.
- Make the best of the junk time you have: Adam Lind (+20.7%) clobbers a pitch up out to the upper deck in right for a two-out, three-run bomb in the 3rd to narrow the losing margin somewhat (+15.5%).
- Not stretched out, but still looking like a fifth starter: Jacob Turner (+0.9%) makes it through 3.2 IP, letting in 3 runs in his 4th inning of trying to bail out Ross to a resounding “meh” from the WPA hamsters.
- DOOOOOOOOOOOM: Jayson Werth (-10.5%) hits a ball off his foot and leaves the game after going 0-5 with 3 LOB and an ROE. Daniel Murphy (-1.1%) is 3-4 with a HBP right on the knee, although he stayed in the game.
