Game 91 WPA HOT TAKE: Murphy is a good hitter. Nats top Reds 14-4.

Roark overcomes clowny fielding and umpiring to put up a good start, while the dingers rain (from the Nats, to be specific).

(What do these graphs and percentages mean?)

  • Jobbed: Tanner Roark (+6.0%) faces fielding and umpiring errors to allow 3 runs in 6 IP (as few as zero earned, depending on how the official scorer resolves the umpiring error) with 5 Ks and 3 walks in an otherwise solid start.
  • Leader of the band[box]: Daniel Murphy (+30.3%) sneaks a pop fly over the wall in right for a two-run homer with two down in the first (+17.3%). Then he pokes another one into the RF corner for a three-run dinger in the fifth (+11.8%).
  • Pad stats while the stat-paddin’s good: Adam Lind (+6.8%) is 3-5 with a double and a two-run jack to right in the 5th (+3.4%). Anthony Rendon (-0.7%) is 2-5 with a line-drive solo shot into the LF corner in the 7th (+0.8%). Jose Lobaton (-3.9%) also cranks a solo bomb to center in the 7th (+0.6%).
  • My words are delicious, thanks: Wilmer Difo (+9.8%) is 3-5 with a walk, an RBI, and 3 runs scored, but he did make an error!
