Game 94 WPA HOT TAKE: Nats stink, will never win again, lose to LAAAA 7-0.

New, 1 comment

Gio struggled on the mound and the rest of the Nats did nothing at the plate and it was like 2009 all over again, man.

(What do these graphs and percentages mean?)

  • Not necessarily an outing to the Nats’ advantage: Gio Gonzalez (-13.9%) gives up 4 runs in 5 23 IP with 3 Ks and 3 walks.
  • Another Doghouse-recommended signing success! Joe Blanton (-1.9%) doesn’t earn a meltdown, getting the last out of the 6th and letting in 3 runs (including the mandatory HR allowed!) in the 7th without recording an out.
  • Not an All-Star, but your WPA leader: Anthony Rendon (+0.5%) works a two-out walk in the 5th to become the first Nat to reach base in the game and the only position player to record positive WPA.
