Dusty Baker talked about putting up with another delay before Saturday night’s game, after the series opener with the San Francisco Giants was postponed on Friday.
“Well, it’s an inconvenience,” Baker said, “but what can you do about Mother Nature?”
“You just have to adjust and roll with it. No sense complaining, no sense doing anything because there is nothing you can do about it.
“You just have to be at the mercy of Mother Nature, so you try to adjust the best way you can.”
Three-plus hours after the scheduled start time for Saturday’s game, the Nationals and Giants finally started their three-game series.
In the bottom of the first inning, with rain still falling in D.C., Bryce Harper slipped on a wet first base bag running out a grounder to first and suffered a left knee/leg injury.
Curse MLB for starting the game in the rain after a serious downpour. Complain (and I’ll agree probably) about the bases they use in the major leagues, which have no give, and are really slick AF in the rain, etc., but it’s not going to change the fact that Harper has apparently/could have suffered a serious injury.
Just read the links now and try to avoid being depressed. Doubleheader today. 1:05 and 7:05 PM. Links below...
