Wire Taps: Max Scherzer’s bullpen; Ryan Zimmerman shoulder injury; Nationals continue four-game set with the Mets...

Catch up on the last 24 hours in Nationals news before the second game of four with the Mets...

Ryan Zimmerman has an issue with his shoulder now. Dusty Baker said it will likely keep him out of today’s game, when the “regulars” return to the lineup.

So how about a little good news?

Baker said last night that right-hander Max Scherzer, who reportedly shot a thumbs up to reporters after a bullpen session on Friday, came through the workout fine.

Will he be able to return to the rotation on Sunday? We’ll see. Baker said it depends on how he reacts to the throwing session today.

“Max said he felt good, just felt it on a couple of pitches, but the big day is tomorrow,” Baker explained.

“It depends how he feels, if he’s stiff or sore tomorrow, so hope that he’ll be better in the morning, or at least where he was.”

Hopefully we’ll find out more about the Nationals’ ace today. Until then, catch up on the last 24 hours in Nats news...
