Over the past few days, I have seen the Unpopular Opinion meme popping up on my Twitter timeline.
I thought I was missing out on all the fun, so I decided to start a 2018 Unpopular Opinions list: Washington Nationals Edition based on the unpopular opinions of the FBB staff and fans on Twitter.
Let’s see how it goes…
FBB STAFF UNPOPULAR OPINIONS:
Ryan McFadden: The Washington Nationals should be really concerned about the Braves. They have young talent, solid pitching, and have proven to be a big test for the Nats.
Matt Weyrich: Sammy Solis is a pretty good reliever. He has good numbers against lefties and has been used more often than anyone else in the Nationals’ bullpen. It’s about using him the right way.
Will Kubzansky: When everyone’s healthy, move Bryce Harper to first. Thank Ryan Zimmerman for his years of service, and then roll with the Eaton-Soto-Taylor outfield for the season (Eaton-Soto-Robles if things keep trending the way they are).
NATIONALS FANS ON TWITTER HAVE UNPOPULAR OPINIONS:
Bryce Harper is not a max player right now.— SOTO SZN (@vicente_bacchin) June 4, 2018
Kevin Long is the issue with this. Stats don’t lie. The Nationals as a team are slashing— NatsFanatic (33-25) (@Lewis6Jay) June 4, 2018
If the season ended today that would be the...
Lowest BA ever
Lowest OBP ever
Lowest SLG since 2014 (would be 4th worst in franchise history)
Trea Turner should not bat 1st or 2nd. He should bat 5th or 6th so he's free to run, not be stuck on 1B with Harper batting.— NATS’ MAGIC NUMBER (@NatsMagicNumber) June 4, 2018
Not trading one of Soto/Robles will be a massive mistake and waste of a window year https://t.co/aZxLnWeMI5— NATSHACK (@dcNATSHACK) June 4, 2018
The Adam Eaton Trade was a bust https://t.co/RIUaE4cc4x— Cynical (Redskins fan) (@Ghostbuster9000) June 4, 2018
The Nats aren’t making the playoffs with their current roster and lineup https://t.co/aZxLnWeMI5— NATSHACK (@dcNATSHACK) June 4, 2018
Just to recap: Soto/Robles is the future, Bryce Harper isn’t worth the cash, and hitting is a MAJOR problem.
