Okay, the important news first this morning.

The cutest thing in Nationals history!!! Anyhow, here are the links:

Matt Adams homers twice; Nats split series with D-backs (MLB.com)
Matt Adams got seven—count 'em, seven!—RBI with a grand slam and another homer on Sunday in a 15-5 win. With momentum heading into Monday's game, the Nats will try and use this week to turn around serious division deficits.

Soto credits dad for introducing him to baseball (MLB.com)
Soto was at a baseball game before he could walk with his father Juan Jose Soto, with whom he would hit, hit, and hit some more.

Kyle Barraclough to IL with radial nerve irritation (MLB.com)
Barraclough allowed three runs on Saturday and left the game with a "tingling" feeling in his arm, which would certainly explain his struggles thus far.

With a pair of pivotal series up next, Nationals rout Diamondbacks to salvage split (WaPo)
The Nationals certainly aren't the middling team they were at this time last month, though they aren't quite a force to be reckoned with either. They're getting hits at crucial times and pouring it on moreso than before — but it'll mean nothing if they can't use that to their advantage against the Phillies and Braves this week.

Nats score early and often in rout of D-backs (MASN)
Lost in the rout was a stellar game from Aníbal Sánchez, who threw six stellar innings on 98 pitches.

Nationals reliever Kyle Barraclough goes to injured list with right radial nerve irritation (WaPo)
The Nats signed Kyle Barraclough to handle the seventh inning. Thus far, he has done nearly everything but that.

Barraclough lands on IL with nerve irritation (MASN)
“We’ve just got to get Barraclough fixed, per se, and ready to go,” Martinez said. “We’ve still got a lot of games left. Hopefully this is not a long-term thing and he can come back and help us win games.”
