Washington Nationals’ 2020 WinterFest Thread - Day 1 in Nationals Park

For the sixth, or is it the seventh, or maybe it’s the eighth straight year, we’re on the scene for the Washington Nationals’ WinterFest celebration today.

WinterFest was held in the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center and in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in previous years, but for the second (or is it the third?) straight year it is being held in Nationals Park over the next two days, so we’ll all get to gather in the ballpark again, and this time we can celebrate a World Series championship while looking forward to the 2020 campaign.

Player interviews, games, an opportunity to get autographs or have your picture taken with the Commissioner’s Trophy, which has been all around the world since the Nationals won it all back in October, or have your picture taken with Sean Doolittle’s private bullpen cart (does anyone else actually use it to get to the mound?)

We’ll be behind the scenes today talking to a parade of Nationals who come by to catch up with the beat writers covering the team, and we’ll share a mix of quotes, photos, and videos to help you catch up with some of your favorite players and coaches (and even with General Manager Mike Rizzo, got any questions?)

Will any new deals be announced? Will any recently-signed players show up to meet fans of their new team? Will a deal for 2020 with Ryan Zimmerman be announced? Or do you think the recent signings are going to bring an end to the 2005 1st Round pick’s 15-year career in D.C.?

There should be plenty of fun and exciting things to enjoy over the next two days, but we’ll only be around for today’s festivities, and if you want to keep up with the action, you’ll find everything we share on our Twitter feed, which we’ll post here and link to in case it doesn’t show up in your browser...
