Game 97 TAF™ of 12.9. I'm still working on this, but we're getting somewhere.
Game 96 TSF™ is 27.4. I'm still experimenting with how to calculate this, so I'm not sure how high that is. My gut feeling is that it's pretty high.
"Acting" DC GM Mike Rizzo in Washington Post writer Tracee Hamilton's article entitled, "Trade Deadline Won't Produce Immediate Gratification for Nats": "For the immediate future, this year, next year, Nick (Johnson's) our first baseman right now. The Lerner family . . . there's no mandate to move salaries, to move players just to clear space. We need to make good, prudent baseball deals. "I talk with ownership all the time and I think the fans have been extremely patient with us in the three years since '06 when the Lerners took over... "People in the front office, we know what Stephen Strasburg means to our major league ballclub."
Washington Post's Tracee Hamilton's article, "Trade Deadline Won't Produce Immediate Gratification for Nats"My goal is: I want to beat up on every single team the way we got beat up on the first half.
Adam Dunn, via WaTimes. Let's go Nats. When a team drafts a player, as the Orioles did McDonald 20 years ago and the Nationals will Strasburg tonight, it's not paying for the entirety of a career. It's paying to control the player's first six years of major-league service time. So before we start worrying whether Strasburg will be an all-time great, let's focus on his first six major-league years. Because that's what the Nationals will be contemplating as they negotiate a price.
Ken Davidoff of NewsdayHere's the best way to crystallize it: San Fran's three starters have combined for six Cy Young awards. Washington's three starters have combined for two career victories.

Acting GM Mike Rizzo said of Cabrera, "I was tired of watching him." Cabrera had been signed this offseason to a one-year, $2.6 million deal. Cabrera said tonight that he plans to become a free agent if he clears waivers. With Cabrera's departure, the Nationals will recall from Class AA Harrisburg catcher Luke Montz. The move is entirely temporary. Catcher Josh Bard is leaving the team tonight to be with his wife, who is having an induced labor. I'll have more on this move - and reaction from Cabrera - shortly.
